Meet the Girls in the Glasses

 Katie is working on getting a degree in Biology Education. She is also currently writing her own book that she hopes to get published. Her favorite movie in the entire world is Star Wars and her favorite books and the Selection and Pride and Prejudice. 


Emily is a feisty pocket rocket with a love for Elephants. She is the shortest of the girls but never lets that get in her way. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite books are The Lunar Chronicles and the Jonquil Brothers. 
 

Rachel is the comedian of the girls and is always quick with a ridiculous joke or a sick burn. Her favorite color is green, she loves the Office and the proposal and her favorite books are yet to be decided.

  Spoiler-Free Review The first time I read this book I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I was busy with school and just getting ready to graduate so I needed some kind of tension relief. Enter Daughter of the Pirate King and my heart.  I am in love with this story. As a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, I was drawn to the words "female Captain Jack Sparrow", I was nervous about what that could mean but I will never doubt again. Tricia Levenseller does a fantastic job of bringing to life relatable, wonderfully irritating characters.  Alosa, the heroine on this epic journey, and the fiery redhead who is the Pirate princess. She is everything you would expect from a pirate and so much more. I am so pleased with how her character developed and grew with each chapter. Riden. Will Turner be still my beating heart for now there are two. He is dashingly handsome, the kindest pirate to ever live, and A NEAT FREAK.
